The following Comet Hale-Bopp ephemeris comes from the International Astronomical Union web site and is used here with permission. It gives the position of the comet every five days along with predicted visual magnitude. To access the information directly go to http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/cfa/ps/cbat.html.
While the positional accuracy of the following ephemeris is not expected to change very much, updated ephemerides appear on the IAU site regularly. Check there if you want their most recent posting. The ephemeris below is computed from the elements on Minor Planet Circular 27287 with full consideration of planetary perturbations.
Although total (m1) magnitudes are given, be warned that comet brightnesses are often unpredictable by several magnitudes either way. A single asterisk indicates that the comet is within 30° of the sun meaning that observing the comet is impractical at those times.
