Leonid Meteors in 2002
Credit: Night Sky Live Project, Wise Obs., TAU, Michigan Tech.

Explanation: All during today, APOD will be posting the best images of the Leonid Meteor Shower as seen by the wide-angle digital cameras perched around the world as part of the Night Sky Live (NSL) Project. The main APOD site will be updated several times with topical information and new images. Pictured above, to start, is an image from last year's Leonids taken with the NSL camera in Israel. The diffuse glow on the upper left will be mostly gone from that camera's images this year, because the town of Mitzpe Ramon has agreed to dim its lights.
