澳大利亞上空的仙女座與紅色精靈

說明： 這棵樹上方發生了什麼事？兩種截然不同的景象。 左側是仙女座星系，這個天體比人類還古老，並將持續存在數十億年。仙女座星系（M31）在大小和形狀上都與我們的銀河系相似。 右側是一個紅色精靈，這是一種持續時間極短，僅為幾分之一秒的閃電，通常發生在劇烈雷暴上方。紅色精靈大約在35年前才被證實是一種真實的大氣現象。 中間的樹是澳洲猴麵包樹(當地人稱boab)，其壽命可達千年之久。猴麵包樹自然生長於澳大利亞和非洲，以其強大的儲水能力而聞名，儲水量可達10萬公升。 這張主題影像拍攝於上個月，地點在西澳大利亞的德比附近。
