A bubble of gas occupies the center of the image with a few stars in the fore- and background. On opposite sides of the bubble, there are two regions where the gas pinches inward. This makes the inner region of the nebula appear like a peanut inside a larger ring.

說明： 天空怎麼會有一副耳機造型的天體？ 今天這張照片展示的是耳機星雲，也稱為PK 164 +31.1或瓊斯-恩伯森 1 號星雲。 這個行星狀星雲是類太陽恆星瀕死後留下的殘骸，在天貓座中佔據了一片相當黯淡的區域，其角直徑約為滿月的五分之一。 紅色和藍綠色分別代表氫原子和氧原子，它們被星雲中心的白矮星所激發和游離。 其形狀之所以像耳機，是因為兩個由氫原子構成的葉狀結構穿透了內部的氧原子區域，也讓這個天體加入了眾多造型奇特星雲的行列。 這類奇特星雲的形態，暗示其周圍可能存在恆星或行星伴星，這些伴星會攪動從瀕死恆星向外流出的物質。 你也可以戴上自己的耳機，聆聽來自哈伯太空望遠鏡與詹姆斯韋伯太空望遠鏡對行星狀星雲所製作的聲音化作品！
