說明： 你最近凝視過你的「家園之星」嗎？ 圖中，左上方的太陽被月亮部分遮蔽，而下方地球上的觀測者也正凝視著這難得一見的日食。 這組壯觀的剪影集錦拍攝於2012年，地點是在美國亞利桑那州鄰近 佩吉（Page）的格倫峽谷國家休閒區。當時，公園巡守員和天文學家向有興趣的遊客講解了這場罕見天象。 此外，在太陽光球上，於暗月影盤的右下方，，隱約可見一個太陽黑子群。 本週將發生一次新的日食， 屆時北美東北部、歐洲與非洲西北部 的許多居民，再度有機會欣賞 日偏食景象。 從格陵蘭島到西班牙的狹長地球路徑也將迎來一次日全食。 一個開放性的有趣問題是在全食期間，是否能看見正值極大期的英仙座流星雨中的流星？
