側著身的星系: NGC3190螺旋星系

說明: 有些螺旋星系看起來是側著身的，而NGC 3190就是如此。NGC 3190同時也是希克森44群的成員，而希克森44群是最接近我們所居住的本星系群的星系群之一。這張精彩的螺旋星系影像中，細膩的塵埃盤環繞著明亮的中心，受到其他星系的重力潮汐力拉扯，使得NGC 3190 螺旋臂不對稱，同時中心的星系盤也被扭轉變形。NGC 3190橫跨了75,000光年，從地球上的小望遠鏡，指向獅子座即可找到其身影。
