Dwingeloo 1 星系現蹤跡

說明： 見樹不見林是很尋常的事，但如果你仔細看上面照片的中央，你將看到一個位在前景恆星後方的漩臂星系，此一星系名為 Dwingeloo 1。這個臨近的星系所發出的光，大多被本銀河系的塵埃、雲氣及亮星所遮蔽，所以遲至1994年才被發現。在上面照片裡，所有可分辨的恆星都在本銀河系。 Dwingeloo 1 的距離約是離我們最近的大星系 - M31 的五倍。
