說明: 比最高的建物、最高的山岳、飛機的最大飛航高度都還要高之處，是極光的國度。極光的高度極少伸展到六十公里以下，但向上則可延伸到一千公里。極光是由高能電子和質子，衝撞地球大氣分子所造成的。如在太空中觀看極光，常可見到完整環拱地球南磁極或北磁極的極光環。上面這幅上個月攝於挪威的廣角影像，記錄了布滿天空的極光。
