說明: 你看見了嗎？ 當一般人看到這個北天最明顯的星群 -- 北斗七星時，這是最常問的問題。 這群恆星是少數幾個在每個世代都會被一看再看的星群 。 北斗七星本身並不是星座，它只是大熊座的一部份，而且北斗七星在不同社會中擁有不同的名稱。北斗七星之中有五顆星彼此非常接近，所以可能是同時形成的。 沿著北斗七星杓口兩顆星的連線，可以找到小熊座的北極星, 。在接下來的十萬年間，恆星的相對運動會使得北斗七星的外觀逐漸改變。
